Shawn Martinbrough

Shawn’s client list includes Coca Cola/ POWERade, The Hershey Company, Cricket Wireless, Playboy, Vibe, Bad Boy Entertainment, Penguin Books and McGraw-Hill. The bulk of Shawn’s work has been done for Marvel Comics, Vertigo and DC Comics. During his critically-acclaimed two year collaboration with novelist Greg Rucka on “Batman: Detective Comics”, Shawn co-created characters that were featured in the BATMAN: GOTHAM KNIGHTS animated DVD as a companion to the Christopher Nolan-helmed trilogy of Batman films.

Shawn’s recent graphic novel projects for Marvel Comics include “Luke Cage Noir” and “Black Panther: The Most Dangerous Man Alive”. He also illustrated a Captain America story exclusively for the U.S. Army & Air Force Exchange Service. With a million copy print run and released with the feature film “Captain America: The First Avenger”, the graphic novel was distributed on military bases across the country.

Shawn is currently illustrating “Thief of Thieves”, the bestselling graphic novel series written by Robert Kirkman, the creator of the hit AMC television series, “The Walking Dead.” “Thief of Thieves” is in development for a live action television series.

Shawn is the co-creator and co-author of “The REN”. The upcoming 200 page graphic novel is set during the Harlem Renaissance and will be published by First Second Books.

His art instruction book, How To Draw Noir Comics: The Art and Technique of Visual Storytelling, is published by Random House and has been reprinted in several languages.

Shawn’s work has been covered by The Hollywood Reporter, The New York Daily News, Entertainment Weekly, USA Today, AOL, The Washington Times, National Public Radio, SIRIUS/XM Radio, and others.

Joseph Phillip Illidge

Joseph started his editorial career at Milestone Media, Inc., the first Black-owned mainstream comic book company and creators of Static Shock!, the award-winning Warner Bros. cartoon. His experience with the Static Shock! animated series led Joseph to become the DC Entertainment liaison with WB Animation for the critically-acclaimed Batman Beyond animated series, recently revived as part of Warner’s 75th Anniversary of Batman celebration.

Joseph was the first Black man to become an editor of the Batman line of comic books for DC Entertainment, a subsidiary of Time Warner Inc. Joseph’s story development, project management, and editorial guidance during the year-long event Batman: No Man’s Land and Batman line-wide relaunch reestablished The Batman as DC Entertainment’s top-selling character. Joseph’s editorial tenure of the Batman comics line included the introduction of Detective Crispus Allen, appearing in the FOX television series Gotham, and the female vigilantes Black Canary and Huntress, appearing on the top-rated CW series, Arrow.

Joseph’s contributions continue to earn millions of dollars for TimeWarner through the DC Entertainment library of movies, television, animation, licensed products and online content, including the rebooted films Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises. Joseph also served as the Comics Editor for Archaia Entertainment, publisher of The Killer, optioned by Gone Girl director David Fincher for development at Brad Pitt’s production company, Plan B Pictures.

Joseph’s next project is The Ren, a 200-plus page graphic novel about a love affair between teenage artists during the height of the Harlem Renaissance. The Ren will be published by First Second Books, a division of Macmillan.


Milo Stone

Milo is the writer/director of the award winning short THE DREAMER, and co-creator of MINDGAME, Verge Entertainment’s award winning premiere film about a group of psychics working on dangerous missions for the U.S. government.

At Verge he develops film and animated projects and serves as a writer/director and producer. As a video game designer and animator, he’s done work for Mattel and Nickelodeon on The Wild Thornberrys, Nintendo, Walker Digital and the rock band Guns ‘N’ Roses. As a web designer and developer, he’s responsible for creating websites for Warner Bros., FAO Schwartz, and the entertainment marketing company Clockdown.

His recent photography work can be seen in the New York Daily News, VIBE magazine, Spicy Magazine, and on book covers for Augustus Publishing. With his extensive experience in video game and web development, Milo oversees website and app development for VERGE original concepts.
